Knobbly rolling pin

Two kruskavels

A kruskavel is a knobbly/patterned rolling pin. It is very used for putting a pattern in doughs for crispbreads.

If you haven't got a kruskavel you can use a fork to make a pattern instead.

There are two grades of kruskavel. For rolling crispbreads a more pointed type is best (shown at the top).

In the UK some specialist shops occasionally have a small stock of kruskavel. In the States and in the UK they are sometimes stocked by online suppliers. If you can't find one by searching in English, try a search for kruskavel köpa and you maybe able to find a supplier in Sweden who will ship one to you. It maybe easier to just use a fork!
